After a somewhat slow start from Les Sang et Or, they eventually went in front midway through the first half courtesy of Wesley Said, who finished off an excellent counter-attack.
Odsonne Edouard controlled Matthieu Udol’s cross and laid it off to the attacker, who made no mistake in finding the corner of the goal.
Towards the end of the first half, Said was back at it again, with the cross coming from the other wing via Saud Abdulhamid. Taking a touch to get the ball under control, the 30-year-old blasted it past Kevin Trapp to double Lens’ lead.
Paris could not find anything going forward, and they struggled to create meaningful opportunities. Just before the hour mark, things went from bad to worse for the hosts when Otavio brought down Abdulhamid in the box after the latter combined well with Adrien Thomasson.
The referee immediately pointed to the spot, where Florian Thauvin stepped up to convert his penalty with aplomb, sending Trapp the wrong way.
Edouard should have made it four when Udol found him at the back post, but left completely unmarked, the striker headed his attempt wide of the mark.
Moments later, Malang Sarr got his head on a corner, completely beating Trapp, only to strike the post in a let-off for the hosts.
The visitors still had time to add a couple more just before the end, as a very poor error allowed Allan Saint-Maximin to play in fellow substitute Rayan Fofana, who guided an effort past Trapp. The same two players combined once again in stoppage time, as Fofana was left wide open in the middle of the box to slide it into the bottom corner.
Paris stay 15th in the standings, having yet to earn a win against a side in the top half, and having now conceded as many goals at home this season as Nantes.
As for Lens, they are back on top, leading PSG by one point, having managed to win all 14 games in which they have scored the opening goal.
