Napoli in Advanced Talks for Sudakov — Shakhtar CEO Confirms Optimism

Napoli appear to be closing in on a major midfield reinforcement. Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin has confirmed ongoing negotiations with the Italian club for the transfer of Georgiy Sudakov, one of the most promising young talents in European football.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Palkin expressed confidence:

“We are in negotiations. I can’t share the numbers, but I believe we’ll reach an agreement — and on good financial terms. If not with Napoli, then with another club. I’m not concerned.”

Sudakov, 21, has been on the radar of several top clubs across Europe. While Napoli seem to be leading the race, English Premier League sides — including Brentford, reportedly — are also monitoring the situation.

“It’s like with Mudryk. If it’s not today, it will be tomorrow. Georgiy is one of the best in his position, and we’re confident his future lies at the highest level,” added Palkin.

Shakhtar’s asking price is believed to be around €60 million, a sum that could still be negotiated as the summer window approaches.
